Happy Returns

Blue Onion provides journal entries and detailed gift card reporting for exchanges issued by Happy Returns.

When a return is initiated in Happy Returns, Blue Onion provides a supplementary journal entry to record the return expense as well as the gift card liability that is created.

By clicking into the detail of these transactions you will find the full listing of gift cards that were issued as well as the order the gift card was a refund for, the order where the gift card was redeemed and any remaining balance.

Blue Onion also traces the gift card on the Journal Entry page to show redemptions and expirations, if applicable.  When a gift card is redeemed and used to pay for an order or exchange, you will find the Happy Returns line in the gift cards of the accounts receivable portion of the Orders journal entry.

And finally, when a Happy Returns gift card expires, we also provide a journal entry for the expiration of the gift card.  The ability to record income at the time of expiration is subject to jurisdictional rules and laws and should be reviewed with your CPA.
