Custom Segment Mapping
Blue Onion's custom segment mapping allows you to create custom segments and group things by different parameters within your order or order line item data. Follow these steps to create custom segments:
Navigating to the Segment Mapping Menu
The Custom Segment Mapping menu can be found under the settings drop down menu on the bottom left of the main dark blue side menu:
Creating a New Segment Group
Select "New Segment Group".
- Define the group name (e.g., "Geography", âProduct Classâ).
- Select the column or field by which you'd like to create this segment (e.g., "Location", âChannelâ, âSKUâ).
Click "Save".
Adding Segments to the Group
- Start by naming your first segment (e.g., "Americasâ, âApparelâ, âOnlineâ, âetc").
Click "Save".
- Click the pencil icon on the far left to being adding value to the segment within the group
Edit the segment to include the relevant values by moving them from the left to the right pane.
- Repeat steps 1-4 to create additional segments within the group
Editing Segments
If you need to edit a segment after creating it, simply:
- Go back to the segment.
- Re-select the pencil icon and move the values accordingly.
- Add or remove values by moving them between the panes.
- Click "Save".
Note that once a value is mapped to a segment, it will no longer be available for mapping to other segments within the same group, so it will first need to be removed from a segment before mapped to a new segment.
Using Custom Segments
Once you've created your custom segments, they will be displayed in your source data pages and journal entries, allowing you to utilize them within your data.
