Setting Up the Blue Onion NetSuite Saved Import Template

To allow our NetSuite journal entries upload automatically, there are a few steps to get the import template setup.

    1
Navigate to the Saved CSV Imports menu by selecting Setup > Import/Export > Saved CSV.  See the image below.
    2
Click on the New button at the top left corner of the Saved CSV Import page.
    3
Within the Import Assistant, select the Import Type > Transactions, Record Type > Journal Entry, Character Encoding > Unicode (UTF-8) and CSV Column Delimiter > Comma.  Once all these selections have been made, select a Journal Entry export you have created from the Blue Onion application and hit next.  Compare your selections to the screenshot below to confirm you have the setup correct.
    4
At the Import Options page, select Add and hit Next.  This will bring you to the Field Mapping menu.  Most of the fields will be auto mapped except for the two Memo fields (one for the journal entry itself and one for the line item) as well as the Originating Transaction field.  The first Memo field should be mapped to the Journal Entry Memo and the second Memo field to the Line Item Memo line.  The Originating Transaction field should be mapped to the custom line item field previously created.  Hit Next. See the screen below for the final mapping state.
    5
On the Save Mapping and Start Import page, add the Import Map Name as you would like and hit the Save and Run bottom to start your first upload.
